Conveyor band of driving belt is made up of many individual couplings which are elongated and rectangular and made of rubber or plastic material with rounded longitudinal edges. Each part has at least two channels or boreholes running parallel to the longitudinal edges in which thin rods are located. The rods pass through at least two neighbouring couplings whereby the couplings in neighbouring rows are displaced relative to one another. The rounded longitudinal edges are thicker than the web segments which join them together. The belt design enables conveyors of theoretically infinite length and width to be constructed while still enabling damaged parts to be readily replaced.
