The cooking pot is fitted with a device to hold the lid during the pouring of the boiled liquids from potatoes. the pot (1) is fitted with a butt strap (13) superimposed on the pot from outside. It is symmetrical to the pot handles and projects beyong the edge of the pot (12). It has on the inside of its free end at least one groove (131) extending parallel to its edge (12). The lid of the pot (2) is fitted at its edge with two handle pieces (22) which are positioned opposie to each other.
