Drive belt replacement in record players - involves locating belt on turntable wheel and spigot and rides over incline onto drive wheel

A retaining feature enables the drive belt of a record player to be fitted in a tensioned condition on the underside of a turntable before the turn table is fitted. The turntable (1) is located centrally on a spigot (3) connected to a pulley wheel (2) and belt (5) transmits the drive over an input pulley. For belt replacement the turntable is removed and the pulley located over the wheel (2) and a locating projection (4). The rear surface of the locating projection is inclined (6). The complete assembly is located directly onto the record player and the drive wheel locates within the belt loop. When the table is rotated the belt moves down the inclined surface (6) and is automatically located on the pulley wheels.
