1533650 Stabilized vinyl halide compositions; modified polyesters; polyurethanes MONSANTO CO 21 Dec 1976 [22 Dec 1975] 53373/76 Headings C3R and C3M A vinyl halide polymer is stabilized by a solid linear saturated modified polyester (P) having MW #40,000, the ratio -CH 2 -/ -COO- being from 4 to 7. (P) is made from a linear saturated polyester prepolymer having residual OH groups, of MW 5000-15,000, by reaction with a difunctional coupling agent, e.g. a diisocyanate, bis-lactam, bis-lactone, bisepoxide, bis-ketene, carbodiimide, or sulphonyl halide. The prepolymer is derived from dicarboxylic acid(s) and glycol(s). Exemplified compositions comprise, in parts by weight: PVC, 100; (P) a polyester-polyurethane, 60; epoxidized soya oil, 3; Ba/Cd stabilizer 2; stearic acid, 0-5. |
