1477027 Feeding electronic components SONY CORP 9 Oct 1974 [15 Oct 1973] 43738/74 Heading B8S In apparatus for feeding electronic components 1 and comprising a fixed member in which is formed a component supplying aperture, and a movable member in which is formed a transfer aperture the mouth of which is in sliding contact with the fixed member and which can be aligned with the supply aperture to receive a component therefrom, the depth of the transfer aperture is greater than the maximum component-length whilst the mouth of the transfer aperture is enlarged by a recess having a depth such that the reduced depth of the remaining portion of the transfer aperture is less than the minimum component-length. This enables the apparatus to cope with fluctuations in the component-lengths without jamming. In Figs. 5 and 6, a movable member 11 is sandwiched between fixed members 8, 9 and contains transfer bores 28 which can be aligned either with supply apertures 12a or with discharge apertures 12b, the mouth of the bores 28 being enlarged by recesses 30. In Fig. 13A, the apertures 12a, 12b are formed in a cylindrical fixed member 42 in which is rotatably housed a member 43 having a transfer bore 45 the mouth of which is enlarged by a recess 47. When discharged through the apertures 12b the components are fed to enlarged pockets 34 closed by a support plate 36, the components standing upright on the plate 36 at one end of the pockets. The plate is moved in a direction C and the pockets are moved in a direction D to cause the components to lie on the plate, which is then withdrawn to pass the components to a circuit board. |
