In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3a, the shackle bores 4, 5 are slightly intersected by an offset bore 6 in which there are spring-loaded balls 8 which are pressed back by ramps 12, 13 as the shackle is inserted, and then snap into slots 14, 15. In the form shown in Figs. 6 and 8, balls 19 which are normally restrained by sleeves 20 move out to engage locking notches under pressure from spring 16 when these sleeves are displaced by insertion of the shackle legs.</p> |
