<p>1434455 Display devices; two position indicators STAVER CO Inc 22 July 1974 [23 July 1973] 32403/74 Headings G5C and G4F [Also in Division H1] An electromagnetic indicator assembly 20 has a support frame 22 with windows 26 at which may be displayed symbols on indicator plates 38 carried by permanently magnetized rotors 30 behind the windows, and a stator assembly 50 comprising a stamped magnetic metal plate 52 with spaced fingers 62 each defining a magnetic core 64 on which a non-magnetic stator coil 68 is wound. Energization of a stator coil causes rotation of the corresponding rotor to expose a symbol at a window. The magnets of adjacent rotors are arranged to have opposite polarity whereby energization of a stator coil does not disturb adjacent rotors. In one form, a reset switch is provided connecting a centre tap on each coil to earth, while in another form, the rotors return to the initial position when the coils are de-energized.</p> |
