<p>Flexible hose carries a pressurised fluid and consists of a wall (3,4) in a flexible material such as rubber and with reinforcing and protective elements (2, 5, 6) such as fabric, helically wound steel wire, rings etc. At least two of these elements are wholly or partly in metal and are electrically insulated relative to each other. They are provided with leads connectable to appts. for measuring the electrical resistance between the elements and/or surrounding water. The hose may contain non-metallic fabrics each provided with at least one electrically conductive filament, pref. a number of such filaments equally spaced in the fabric.</p> |
