The hitherto conventional cardboard lids for cup-shaped containers have an attached rim and can only be produced in processes with a plurality of operations and are therefore relatively expensive. The new process makes it possible to produce a one-part cardboard lid with only two operations which are similar to deep-drawing and can be carried out at high speed and using commercially available cardboard.
