A vehicle lifting platform comprising tracks 10 secured to cross-members 11 movable on vertical guide posts 14 is provided with an auxiliary frame 15, 16 adapted to engage a vehicle on the tracks 10 and to raise it to relieve the load on the wheels. As shown in Fig. 1, the cross-members 16 of the auxiliary frame are each supported on pairs of rollers 19 which are mounted at the ends of a link 21 supported by parallel links 22. The links 22 are fixed to the ends of rods 23 mounted in bearings 24 and are raised from a lowered position, in which they are parallel to and level with the cross-member 11, to a raised position by an hydraulic ram 25, 27. The two parallel motion linkages are mechanically connected by the rods 23. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the two linkages are hydraulically interconnected. |
