Catalysts useful in decomposing hydrazine and derivatives comprise a cobalt-free mixture of molybdenum with molybdenum oxides deposited on a carrier comprising Al and Na silicates or activated carbon, the Mo of the oxides having a valency <6. Additionally the catalyst may contain Ni, Rh, Ir, Cr and/or Cu. The carrier of mixed silicate may be a molecular sieve. The preparative details provided are conventional e.g. impregnation of carrier followed by reduction of Mo compound. |
