The machine for palletising drums and barrels (70), has a conveyor with stops (40, 42, 44) at the end to form rows containing the required number. Each row moves along a continuation conveyor (20) in front of the marshalling table (12). This has three fixed sides (30, 54) adjustable for the dimensions of the load. The fourth side is a moving plate (52) which pushes the row onto the table. Previous rows are moved inwards until the load is complete. The table (12) is moved away and the load deposited onto a pallet (72) underneath. This pallet is conveyed onwards by another conveyor (18) parallel to the first conveyor, to a take-off point.
