Diene rubber graft polymers contng. acrylonitrile

Graft copolymers consists of (a) a substrate of a diene rubber containing 40-100 mol.% conjugated 1,3-diene, and 0-60 mol.% ethylenically unsatrated monomer; and (b) a superstrata containing randomly distributed units of acrylonitrile, and an aromatic alkene, the mol. ratio of acrylonitrile to aromatic alkene being 2-9 : 1. The aromatic alkene is pref. styrene. The superstrata may also contain other lakenically unsaturated monomers. The diene is pref. butadiene. The graft copolymer may be mixed with a compatible resin, so that the mixture contains 5-35% wt. rubber.
