The rectangular construction device comprises a rough cast outer framework and a series of internal cavities. It is for use in the construction of floors where it is necessary to have the thermal insulation provided by the cavity structure. It is manufactured from concrete and is injected with a non-conductive plastic foam. The rectangular shaped brick is formed with two recessed channels which run the length of two opposite upper edges. A locating block is positioned so that one outer edge lies across the channel of one brick and the second edge locates against the channel wall of the adjacent brick thus holding it in position.
