Fixing of insulant leaf onto existing wall - uses mesh sheet fixed to transverse tie and coated with mortar

The insulant panel comprises a vertical sheet of metal mesh to which a layer of e.g. mortar is applied. The mesh is fixed relative to the existing wall by a series of transverse frames. The spacer frames comprise vertical members which are fixed to the wall at longitudinal intervals. The external vertical edge of the space frame presents a series of projection to the mesh. The mesh fits over the projections to be fixed in place by spring washers. The spacer may comprise an 'L' sectioned unit which is formed of horizontal 'L' shaped members and straight vertical bars. One of the legs of the 'L' may be fixed to the wall by bolts and plate washers.
