Ski parts laminate prodn. - from thermosetting resin impregnated glass fibre layer overlayed in partially set state with impermeable top layers under pressure

Laminate composed of a fibre reinforced base layer impregnated with a thermosetting synthetic resin and top layer(s) is produced by overlaying the partially set base layer impregnated with a soln. contg. 40-70% resin with impermeable top layer(s) and pressing all the layers together to thermoset them whereby the resin content 40-70 % is selected such that a 10% flow of the resin is obtd. at a pressure of 5 kg per sq. cm., at 150 degrees C over 10 mins. Thermosetting resins are pref. epoxy resins treated with fillers and/or pigments. Used for mfr. of ski parts such as upper decorative layers or lower running faces. Number of intermediate steps is reduced.
