<p>The locomotive rides on the monorail with about a third of its height overhanging, and is moved by an internal roller running on the top of the monorail. It is stabilised against pitching by U-hoops at each end fitting loosely over the rail, and against rolling by counterweights, for which the electric motor and battery can serve if the drive to the roller is indirect. For straight stretches of monorail no more than a stretched cord is needed. For bends, a plastic strip set on edge is used. Brackets are used to support and join the plastic strip and connectors provide the transition from cord to strip.</p> |
