<p>1476439 Nickel-on-silica catalyst STAMICARBON BV 22 Nov 1974 [28 Nov 1973] 50732/74 Heading B1E A catalyst comprising nickel supported on silica is prepared by forming an aqueous suspension of particulate silica containing a dissolved nickel salt and urea, agitating and heating the product to above 50‹C to deposit an insoluble nickel compound on the silica, separating this from the liquid and reducing the nickel compound to nickel wherein the amount of urea used is according to the equation U = f #Ni where U = urea concentration in gm/litre, Ni is the nickel ion concentration in gm/litre water and f is a value between 75/pH and 175/pH where the pH is that of the aqueous silica suspension. Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specification 1220105.</p> |
