The unit has an outer case (p) lined with insulating material (a1). Within this is a thermal core (a) with an air box (b) below it. The box has inlets (c, d) for fresh and recirculated air with a mixing space (g) between them. The mixed air flows from this space over an electric heater element (H) within a void (h) inside the thermal core (a) and is discharged into the room through an opening in the side of the unit. There are separate fans (e, f) for the fresh and recirculated air immediately inside their respective openings (c, d). The control dampers (o, n) over these inlets are thermostatically controlled independently of each other. This gives an improved control of air flow and room temp. An air humidifier (1) can be contained within the air mixing space (g).
