1476528 Photohardenable resin compositions BAYER AG 2 Oct 1974 [4 Oct 1973] 42731/74 Headings C3B and C3P An UV-light hardenable mixture comprises by wt. 30-95% (A) a reaction product of (i) polyepoxide(s) containing #12,3-epoxypropyl group and (ii) acrylic and/or methacrylic acid, 0À6-1 mole COOH having been used per mole epoxy groups; 5-70% (B) tri-, tetra-, penta- or hexa-acrylic or methacrylic ester of a tri-, tetra-, penta-, or hexahydric alcohol; and 0À2-10%, based on (A) + (B), of (C) a photo initiator where Ar is aromatic, R 1 is an optionally alkylsubstituted C 1-12 alkyl, or a cycloalkyl optionally containing O as hetero-atom, and R 2 is optionally halogenated benzyl or alkyl or - CH 2 CH 2 X where X is CN, CONH 2 , or COOR 3 , where R 3 is H or C 1-10 aklyl. A polymerization inhibitor may be also present. (C) may be a benzoin derivative. Also present may be # 5%, based on (A) + (B), of (D) a tertiary amine or a mercapto compound. The mixture may be prepared by mixing the components, or by reacting (A) (i) and (ii) in the presence of (B), and subsequently admixing (C).
