1532466 Multiple fastenings VIRO INNOCENTI SpA 9 April 1976 [1 Dec 1975] 14602/76 Heading E2A A two bolt lock for a door &c comprises a channel-shaped casing 1, which is substantially as long as the door is wide, in which are guided longitudinally the bolts 6 and 7 which in the locking position project from the casing to engage keepers in the door surround. The bolts are moved by pinion 12 engaging racks 106, 107 on the bolt ends and the pinion is itself operated by the rotor 23 of a cylinder lock 10 on the outside of the door and, optionally, by lock 11 on the inside. The rotor 23 is keyed to the pinion by rod 24 which is pushed by the key C into eccentrically sited hole 25 in the pinion against the bias of spring 39 acting on rod 38 which tends to push rod 24 away from the pinion and also serves to key cylinder 37 of lock 11 to the pinion. Lock 10 is protected against drilling by hard sleeve 29 and disc 31 surrounding it. The casing 1 may be telescopic so that doors of different width can be accommodated. An arrangement (Fig. 11) suitable for double doors, of which door P' is only rarely used, is also described. The main door P is provided with the double bolt lock S, one bolt of which engages casing 57 on door P'. Casing 57 guides only one bolt which may engage keeper 53 and which can be held in either the fastening or the unfastening position by means of screw 54. In the former case only door P is used, in the latter operation of the main lock permits both doors to open. |
