摘要 <p>1464105 Benzisoxazolone compounds for photographic use EASTMAN KODAK CO 28 Jan 1974 [26 Jan 1973] 34625/76 Divided out of 1464104 Heading C4P [Also in Division C2] Monoazo compounds have the formula where R<SP>3</SP> is a bivalent organic group containing 1-3 bivalent atoms in the bivalent linkage; n is 1 or 2; R<SP>4</SP> is optionally substituted alkyl having 1-10 C, optionally substituted aryl having 6-20 C or 2-10 C acyl; E is CO or SO 2 l; Q is a bivalent group providing a mono-atom linkage between E and X 2 where the mono-atom is O, S or optionally substituted NH; one of X 1 and Q-X 2 is a ballasting group of sufficient size to render the compound immobile in an alkalipermeated gelatine layer of a photographic silver halide element and the other of X 1 and Q-X 2 is an azo image dye moiety, including the linking groups necessary to attach the moiety to E or the benzisoxazolone ring. Compounds I-IX are all monoazo dyes of the above formula where Q-X 2 is the azo dye moiety, R<SP>4</SP> is methyl or benzyl; E is CO; and X 1 is The dyes are preferably prepared by reacting an acid chloride of a 2,1-benzisoxazolin-3-one with a dye with an amine group on it by a Schotten- Baumann reaction. In the products a free OH group may be esterified, e.g. benzoylated. Starting materials.-p-Amino benzene sulphonamide is diazotized and coupled with N-ethyl-N-(2-methylaminoethyl)-m-toluidine to give an orange dye. The compound of the formula is condensed with N, N<SP>1</SP>-dimethylethylenediamine to give a yellow dye hydrochloride. The compound of the formula is prepared from the free acid and SOCl 2 . The compound of the formula is prepared by diazotization and coupling.</p>
