The production method for the manufacture of wear-resistant diaphragms for pressure transducers uses sintered pulverised metal as the base material. The powder is subjected to pressure in a die to produce the required form of diaphragm. Cup-shaped components can be produced with greater dimensional accuracy by employing electrochemical erosion. The diaphragm (3) can be mounted in the transducer element by heat-shrinking onto a carrier (6) which is similarly manufactured from sintered material. The diaphragm carrier then forms the transmitting element between the diaphragm and the actual transducer cell (8). This method produces an element of extreme wear-resistant properties.
