Washer-filter for hot dusty gases - using hot gas bypass stream around washer for drying deposited sludge

A gas washer-cooler using liq. circulation in a closed system is followed by a dry filter. A portion of the gas stream by-passes the washer-cooler and is used to dry the wet sludge which accumulates in the washer liq. circulation. This fraction of the gas then re-mixes with the washed gas before entering the filter. Used for cooling and cleaning hot dusty gases e.g. from melting furnaces. The recovered solids leave in a dry form and there is no transportation and handling of wet sludge.
