The clock mechanism has a regulating segment made as a one-piece plastics moulding with the regulating key. The latter has two stops (3,4) offset from one another in the direction of rotation of the setting arm (1) for the spiral balance spring (5). Preferably the radial spacing of the two stops along the radius (R) of the spiral balance spring (5) is equal to the thickness of the spring (5), so that the radial play between the two stops (3,4) is zero. The setting arm (1) can be rotated about the axis of the spiral balance spring (5), with the frequency of the balance oscillations dependent on the point at which the stops (3,4) act on the spring (5).
