The combined process for heating and cooling the loading interiors of railway goods wagons uses dry ice for cooling and electric power for heating. Min. servicing is needed, and the equipment can be operated and checked by a single attendant. For interior cooling, air is conducted through the interior, passing through a dry ice installation (a) in the circuit, with the aid of ventilators (8), until the temperature has reached a previously determined ideal value. For heating, ventilator (11) assisted air is conducted through a heat-exchanger (12) until the temperature has likewise attained a previously determined level. The cooling or heating system may be switched on by an outside thermostat, (10) dependent on outside temperature. The heating assembly may be mounted on one side, and the cooling assembly on the other, in the top third of the wagon height.
