<p>Ribbon contains an esp. transparent, thin, flexible base, coated with a non-transferable adhesive layer (I) having a non-adhesive surface. (I) is pref. of polyester, esp. polyurethane, or of elastomer. Ribbon is used in office machines, e.g. typewriters. In a pref. embodiment, ribbon is a typewriter ribbon, which can be inserted in a typewriter and used selectively to remove typing errors. When the ribbon is pressed against paper, it can take up printing ink without removing paper fibres. The ribbon is water-soluble and has a long service-life. In an example, the coating soln. contains 68 pts. wt. elastomer adhesive, 4 pts. wt. dibutyl sebacate, 25 pts. wt. MeEtCO, 5 pts. wt. toluene, 2 pts. wt. corn starch.</p> |
