The cleaning attachment (15) is designed to be used in conjunction with record discs used in electronic data processing equipment. It comprises a double pronged fork (16) with a flat flanged member (18) at the closed end and two absorbent sponge tips (17) which fit over the open ends. In operation, the cleaning attachment is fixed by means of a slot (19), cut into the closed end, which fits the end of a push pull rod linked in turn with a motor drive. The drive unit causes the cleaner to move backwards and forwards over the end of the data processing record through a slot in the housing.
