<p>A heat-sensitive recording material which contains as color former at least one azo compound of the formula <IMAGE> (1) WHEREIN D represents a phenyl radical which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkoxycarbonyl, N,N-dialkylaminocarbonyl, acylamino, N-acyl-N-alkylamino or the group <IMAGE> wherein each of Y1 and Y2 independently represents alkyl or aryl or, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, represent a heterocyclic ring which optionally contains an oxygen atom, X1 represents hydrogen or alkyl, X2 represents alkyl, cyanoalkyl or arylmethyl, or X1 and X2, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, represent a heterocyclic ring which optionally contains an oxygen atom, X3 represents alkyl or aryl, and n is 1 or 2; said color former being dispersed or dissolved in a fusible binder layer on a substrate, and the material also containing an electron acceptor substance as a color developer.</p> |
