<p>Thermohardening compositions are produced by reacting (a) a N,N'-bis-imide of unsaturated dicarboxylic acid of formula in which D is a divalent organic radical contg. a C=C double bond and A is a divalent organic radical with at least 2C, (b) amine of formula R(NH2)x in which x is greater than 2; R is an organic radical of valency x, the quantity of bis-imide being 0.55-25 mole per NH2 gp. of the polyamide (c) a monomer other than a bis-imide and contg. >=1 polymerisable -CH=C of the vinylic, maleic allylic or acrylic type and may contain other functional gps and the quantity of monomer is 5-50% of the total wt of (a) and (b). (a), (b) and (c) are mixed and heated at 50-180 degrees C and are hardened at 200 degrees-280 degrees C.</p> |
