It may be prepared by reacting a diacid in its chloride with a diamine Such diamines may be prepared from an aromatic diamine and acid amino-arylsulphonic acid or chloride or an arylene disulphonic acid dichloride. The polymers are stated to be resistant to temperatures as high as 350‹ to 450‹ C. but soluble at concentrations up to 40% by weight in organic solvents such as dimethyl formamide or acetamide or N-methyl pyrrolidone without the addition of inorganic salts; the solutions can be cast or extruded to give heat resistant films or fibres.</p> |
