This additional information includes a component whose information content is set at the beginning of each transmission section in dependence upon the presence of a substitute pulse transmission in one or more time channels, which substitute pulses replace the transmitted signals when the monitored section has been recognized as faulty. This component is analysed at the end of each transmission section in respect of its information content, whereby the receiving end station is able to determine which particular time channels carry the substitute pulses. |
