1520268 Optical programme controller Y KUZE 2 Dec 1975 [7 Dec 1974] 49526/75 Heading G1A A programmable sequence timer comprises a rotary transparent cylinder 14, a row of L.E.D.'s 16 disposed inside the cylinder in a stationary shaft 15 and a row of correspondingly spaced photo-cells 18 disposed outside the cylinder, the timing programme being determined by the length and position of strips of opaque adhesive tape 38 on the outside of the cylinder. The photo-cells may be silicon photodiodes, phototransistors or CdS cells controlling conduction of respective triacs or operation of respective relays. The timing motor 10 is controlled to provide single revolutions of the cylinder by one of the L.E.D./photo-cell channels and an opaque tape strip (Tm), Fig. 7 (not shown) encircling the cylinder with only a small gap. A machine to be controlled may be provided with a rotating mask (50), Fig. 18 (not shown) which, intercepting a photo-sensor (46), causes a synchronizing signal to be passed from an L.E.D. (47) in the sensor to the timing motor control circuit, Fig. 17 (not shown) to start rotation of the cylinder. |
