The device for subjective refraction tests in human eyes has a selection of test lenses of varying focal lengts mounted in a support disc system. One or more of the support discs is mounted on powered rotating shaft. The shaft is coupled to an electric motor through a slip clutch device and constant rotation is applied to the system by means of the motor. A series of remotely controlled click stop devices are provided by which any required individual lens may be appropriately positioned when needed. The test device is mounted at head height above a chair for the patient. A disc is provided on each side to present similar lenses to each eye at the same time.
