<p>The rotary IC engine has annular induction/combustion passage formed between a stationary housing (4) and a rotor (1). Abutments (3) are formed by fixed radially inward projections of the housing. The rotor has in respect of each abutment a piston (2) formed by a half-round member seated in a half-round recess The pistons cooperate with the abutments, and with axial ports (5) in the passage, to operate a four-stroke cycle. The pistons pass the abutments by being oscillated in their recesses, first the leading edge and then the trailing edge of the piston being moved radially inwards by a cam surface of the abutment.</p> |
