Impregnating wood chips with bonding agent - using chips predried to or below, and kept at, preset moisture content by measuring content and adding water if necessary

Wood chips are impregnated with a bonding agent in that the wood chips which are supplied to a batch weighing machine are first dried to a moisture content below or equal to a predetermined content and the chips moisture content is then continuously measured and the difference of moisture content between the actual and the predetermined one is corrected by adding water to the chips prior to or during feeding to the weighing machine. Used in chipboard mfr. Constant moisture impregnating agent content in the wood chips ensures mfr. of chipboards of constant quality.
