<p>The support, esp suitable for use in silo construction, incorporates shaped structural elements which can be inserted into one another. There is no need for consolidation by filling in with concrete. Each of the elements from which it is made up (1, 1a, 1b, 1c) is made from a sheet metal strip, whichis bent over, through 45 deg., at the lateral edges (2, 2a, 2b, 2c) into a gutter shape. These lateral edges are bent and folded through 180 deg., each with an inwards bend and outwards fold. The whole cross-section of the support is made up from four such elements, and these are mutually offset along the line of the support. A contracting tension another may be fitted in the hollow space which they enclose, made up from threaded rod sections with connecting sockets. The tendency for bulk stored material to pile up at the connecting points is reduced.</p> |
