Drain pump for washing or dishwashing machine - with pump housing cover accessible from outside machine housing

The drain pump comprises a cover for a pump housing, which is accessible from outside the machine housing and which has an expandable annular bead engaging over the undercut edge of the pump housing in positive locking relationship. Pref. the cover with its bead is made of soft elastic material, and supports a closable drain piep for letting off residual liquid prior to opening the suction chamber. The free end of the drain pipe may be fitted over a closure tap mounted on the pump housing or on the cover. The cover can be mfd. at low cost, eliminating conventional components viz. seal, clamping frame with actuating lever or screws, and separate drain pipe with pipe chamber and closure plug.
