<p>The tip has two cutting points (9, 10) at diagonally opposite positions and two pairs of cutting edges (S1, 7, S2, 8). An opening (14) is formed on an edge (13) between the two top surfaces. This opening has two bearing surfaces (15, 16) against which the retaining clamp presses to hold the tip in place on its support. The angles of the surfaces relative to the other surfaces is such that the clamp pulls the tip inwards into place. The cross-section of the tip is in general quadrilateral, lozenge shaped or square.</p> |
