Limit switch for a pressurised piston-cylinder system where the switch is operated by a plunger on the piston and passing through a front wall of the cylinder to indicate the end position of the piston. Specifically, a sleeve (15) of non-magnetic material is tightly inserted into the end wall (14) of the cylinder (6) through which the plunger passes and is open to the cylinder. On pushing the piston (3) into its end position, the plunger (15) which consists of magnetic material plunges into this sleeve (15).
