Plastic typewriter ribbon spool - with ribbon end anchoring hook as part of an embedded curved stamping

A spool for typewriter ribbons, made of plastics by injection moulding is provided on the inside of the cylindrical core with a metal hook for fixing the end of the typewriter ribbon. The hook stands out at an oblique angle parallel to the two spool discs, it forms a part of a curved metal sheet stamping which is partly embedded in the cylindrical core. This provides a safe anchorage for the ribbon ends, even for automatic winders, which can absorb a high tension and can be smoothly depressed without damage to the ribbon as winding proceeds. It is inexpensive to mfr. and requires only a thin wall thickness.
