The mounting clip (4) consists of a baseplate (14) which is moulded in one part with the clip. The clip consists of two flexible extensions (11) in between which the part to be clamped can be forced. The clip section is mounted through a rectangular hole (9) in sheet metal, so that the base lies against one side of the sheet and the clip protrudes through the hole. Two flexible strips (12) are integral with the flexible parts of the clip. The strips face outward and are pushed together when the clip is pushed through the hole in the sheet metal. When the base lies against the sheet metal, the strips will be clear of the hole and open up again, thereby retaining the clip.
