Rail conversion for tractor - with flanged wheels moved by rear and front hitches to sit between pneumatic wheels and rails in friction contact

The front and rear hitches of the tractor are fitted with rail wheel sets (2, 19) which are lowered onto rails and are then pressed down to lift the tractor off the ground and support the weight on the rail wheels. Drive is by swinging one set of rail wheels into contact with the drive wheels of the tractor. The system provides a simple and economic rail conversion for a road tractor. No special fittings are required if the tractor has front and rear hitches. No special drive is required for the rail wheels, just a friction contact drive with the existing drive wheels.
