Shear with elastic material cutting strip - has strip pulled through recess in table from magazine at side

The shear has a cutting strip of elastic material accommodated in a recess running across the table in line with the knife edge. The strip (2) can be pulled through the recess in the table (1) from a magazine (3) alongside the latter, and in which it can typically be stored in a roll. A mechanism with a pair of clamping rollers and a turning handle is provided to pull the strip through. Both magazine and mechanism can be mounted on the machine columns. The strip can be of square or flat rectangular section, while the upper part of the recess is of dovetail section, the strip being clamped in this section. The recess can be formed in a profiled insert fitted in the table.
