<p>Sieve base of wear-resistant rubber or rubber-elastic plastics has a reinforcement comprising tension members (2) and tension folds (3) as in 24 61 237 wherein each end (4) of each tension member (2) can be passed through an opening (5) in the fold (3), and deflected round a ridge (6) associated with the opening (5). A retaining force which is inherent in the rubber or plastics (1) of the sieve base can be associated with the deflected ends (4) of each tension member (2) corresponds more or less to the tensile strength of the part of the tension member extending between the tension folds (3), in dependence on the length, shape and size of the angle of deflection of each end (4) of the tension member (2). In this way whilst the stretch resilient sieve base has a high capacity and oscillation ability the reinforcing tension members (2) which can be stretched evenly can be economically manufactured and fitted with the structural height and weight still being kept to a minimum.</p> |
