<p>Device comprises a lower mechanism and an upper unit in the form of an intermittently-driven continuous belt which is pressed against the fabric independently of the presser foot. The pauses in the drive of the upper fabric advance belt is controlled by the stitching plate or a separate unit, such as a magnet. In addition, there is a further adjustment to the operation of the upper fabric advance belt during seaming. The design allows a precise control over the action of the fabric advance system, even a continuous advance such as when the fab ric is being reversed to lock a stitched seam, without lifting the presser foot from the fabric during sewing.</p> |
