<p>1449395 Amination of aromatic compounds E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 18 Dec 1974 [19 Dec 1973] 54654/74 Heading C2C Aromatic compounds are aminated by reacting ammonia with an aromatic compound miscible with ammonia of an elevated temperature and at a superatmospheric pressure in the presence of a conditioned cataloreactant which has been treated with ammonia prior to the amination reaction, the cataloreactant being a nickel/nickel oxide/zirconium oxide composition which has been conditioned by a process comprising partial reduction followed by partial oxidation. The cataloreactant may additionally comprise an oxide or carbonate of strontium, barium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, titanium, aluminium, silicon, cerium, thorium, uranium or an alkali metal.</p> |
