A door closer combined with a hydraulic check device comprising a piston 2 loaded by a spring 6 and sliding in a cylinder 1 has the stroke of the piston adjusted by screwing the piston up or down on the piston rod 3. The top of the rod 3 has a screwdriver slot 15 to facilitate the adjustment and a hole 20 in a cross bolt 18 is in line with a bore 17 in the head 16 in one position of the door so that the adjustment is possible. The bore of the cylinder is tapered downwardly. The lower end of the spring is secured in a groove 13 in the piston. A one-way valve 9 is provided. |
