<p>The electrode regulator, for an arc furnace, reduces processing times at voltages below the primary voltage and prevents overloading the transformer at voltages above the primary voltage. Regulation takes place from a given staring point in steps according to Z = constant, P = constant and S = f(Ua), where as is a real positive number. For working points that differ from cos phi = 0.707, a working point is chosen according to a given function and depending on the instantaneous primary voltage. When cos phi = 0.707 the original working point is reset by selecting a transformer stage corresponding to the magnitude of the difference.</p> |
