ELECTRICALLY CHARGED FACIAL MASK AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE: To obtain good blood repulsion and efficiently filter out bacteria and particles by composing a filter medium of the face mask of at least two layers of face-to-face contact and charging both outer and inner layers. CONSTITUTION: The body 110 of the face mask is made of a four layers laminated structure consisting of a first surface layer 34, a first layer 38 of melted blowing polypropylene fiber, a second layer 78 of melted blowing polypropylene fiber and a second surface layer 74. The charged laminate 49 composed of the surface layer 34 and the polypropylene melt blowing layer 38 is applied on a send out roller 100 so that the surface layer 34 comes up and the polypropylene melt blowing filter layer 38 comes down when it is sent out from the roller 100. Obtained four layers laminate is charged when it passes through between both electric discharge bars 82 and 84 of a charging unit 80 on approx. 65ft/min. Wearing this face mask facial part is protected from harmful potential contamination when the blood from the patient spring upward to surgeons or other staff during an operation.
